What "estimate" means here
A calculator applies the rule printed in a notice or order to the numbers you type. It cannot know anything the notice does not say, and it cannot know your own circumstances. A salary figure leaves out deductions your office applies and any allowance particular to your posting. A marks figure assumes your count of right and wrong answers matches the final answer key, which can change after objections are decided. An eligibility check applies one relaxation at a time, because most notices do not allow them to be added together.
Rules change, and dates matter
Each page shows the date its figures were last checked against the source, and links that source. A notice published after that date will not be reflected until the page is updated. Where two official sources give different figures for the same thing, both are shown rather than one being chosen silently. Where a figure is worked out rather than quoted — a range of dates of birth, for example — the page says so, and the authority's own reading prevails over ours.
