What the RRB notices decide
Three things a candidate has to work out, and where each one is fixed.
Railway recruitment runs on Centralised Employment Notices. One notice covers every zone at once, so the pay level, the age limit and the marking scheme for a post are the same wherever you apply. Group D (Level 1) is covered by CEN 09/2025, which lists 14 posts; the Non-Technical Popular Categories are covered by the NTPC notices, with 8 posts spread across Levels 2 to 6.
Pay follows from the level, not the post title: the notice fixes a level, and the 7th CPC matrix fixes the basic pay for it. Age is counted on the crucial date printed in the notice, and the relaxation you can claim depends on your category, with the ex-servicemen and serving-railway-staff categories counted separately.Marks in the computer-based tests carry a one-third penalty for a wrong answer, so a guess costs you a third of a mark.
The calculators above take each of those in turn. For the key facts as printed, open theRRB Group D overview or the RRB NTPC overview, both checked against the notice itself.
