Uttarakhand general knowledge
Every fact is taken from a government website or the Census and linked to its source. The practice questions are generated from the same verified data.
Topics
Each topic has a table, key points and practice questions.
Where this general knowledge comes from
Every fact here is taken from a government website, a Census publication or a department's own page, and each entry links to the source it came from. Where two official sources disagree, both figures are printed rather than one being quietly chosen: the Pauri Garhwal district website gives an area and a population that differ from the Census handbook, so the table says so and names both.
What is deliberately left out
The heights of Nanda Devi, Kamet, Trishul and Bandarpunch are not on this site, and neither are the state animal, bird, tree and flower. No reachable government page was found for them, and figures copied from coaching sites are not used here. They will be added as soon as an official document can be quoted for them.
"UK GK" means Uttarakhand GK
Candidates commonly shorten Uttarakhand general knowledge to "UK GK", where UK stands for Uttarakhand and not the United Kingdom. Every topic below is published in both English and Hindi, which is unusual for state GK material — most of it exists in Hindi only.
How the practice questions are made
The questions are generated from the same verified data, so every answer can show the government source it rests on. Facts that official sources disagree about are kept out of the question pool, so that no question ends up with two defensible answers.
