How it's calculated
The RRB Group D (Level 1) 2026 notice prints the exact range of dates of birth allowed as on 1 January 2026. The calculator checks your date of birth against that range. A category relaxation moves only the earliest allowed date of birth; the lower age limit does not change.

Worked example: born 2 January 1992
For 18–33 years, dates of birth from 2 January 1993 to 1 January 2008 are allowed. Born 2 January 1992, you are 33 years 11 months on 1 January 2026: over the limit without relaxation.
With OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) relaxation (3 years) the earliest allowed date becomes 2 January 1990, so the same candidate is eligible.

Para 5.1: 18-33 years as on 01.01.2026; born not earlier than 02.01.1993 (UR/EWS), 02.01.1990 (OBC-NCL), 02.01.1988 (SC/ST), and not after 01.01.2008. Which date of birth counts?
The date of birth in your application, which must match your Matriculation / Secondary certificate. Later requests to change it are not accepted.
Does relaxation change the minimum age?
No. Relaxation only raises the upper age limit. Everyone must meet the minimum age on the cut-off date.
Can I add two age relaxations together?
No. The notice says that if you are eligible on more than one ground you get the highest single relaxation, not the total. SC, ST and OBC candidates applying against UR vacancies get no community relaxation.
Is the age counted on 1 January 2026?
Yes. For CEN 09/2025 the age limit of 18 to 33 years is reckoned on 1 January 2026.
