Negative markingOne-fourth (0.25) of the marks for that question

The marks calculator covers the Main examination only. The notification gives each test's maximum and its number of questions but never the marks for one question, and in the Main exam every test divides into a plain figure (1.5, 1.2, 0.5). In the Preliminary exam it does not: 35 questions for 30 marks could mean 6/7 of a mark a question, or 1 mark a question with the raw score scaled to 30, and those give different totals. Since the Main examination marks are the only ones that count towards the final merit list, the calculator covers the phase that decides the result.

Three things to work out before you apply

Whether you are eligible. Age is counted on 1 July 2026, not on the day you apply, so a birthday after that date does not count. The limit is 20–30 years, and the notice sets out 5 categories that can raise the upper limit. The age limit calculator checks your date of birth against that range and applies one relaxation at a time.

What your answer sheet is worth. IBPS PO Main Examination (Objective) has 170 questions for 200 marks, with a different penalty in each section. The marks calculator works the score out section by section from the official answer key.
