Three things to work out before you apply
What your answer sheet is worth. NEET (UG) paper has 180 questions for 720 marks, with 1 off for a wrong answer. The marks calculator works the score out section by section from the official answer key.
Qualifying is set by percentile, the cut-off mark follows from it. NTA fixes the qualifying standard as a percentile — 50th for UR/EWS, 40th for SC, ST and OBC-NCL — and the mark that corresponds to it is only known once every answer sheet has been scored. That is why the cut-off moves from year to year even though the paper is always out of 720.
All 180 questions are compulsory and the paper is taken on pen and paper in a single sitting, so there is no shift normalisation: your raw score out of 720 is your score. Work it out with the marks calculator, then see where it sits with marks vs rank.
