Based on NEET (UG) 2026 result data. Ranks change every year.

How it's calculated

Best rank = (candidates in the next band above your marks) + 1 Worst rank = (candidates in the band your marks are in)

Your rank is one more than the number of candidates who scored more than you. NTA's press note gives counts such as "10,160 candidates scored 600 and above". Everyone in the band above your marks scored more than you, which gives the best possible rank; everyone who could be ahead of you is inside your own band, which gives the worst. Below the lowest band, the worst rank is the total who appeared (19,99,895).

Estimate only. Official results, marks and eligibility are decided by the National Testing Agency. Verify on the official website.

Worked example: 620 marks

1,492 candidates scored 650 and above and 10,160 scored 600 and above. So 620 marks means a rank between 1,493 and 10,160 in NEET (UG) 2026.

Frequently asked questions

Can this tell me my exact NEET rank?

No. NTA publishes how many candidates scored in certain bands (for example 10,160 scored 600 and above in 2026), not a mark-by-mark rank list. So the tool gives the range your rank must fall in, using only those official counts.

What was the NEET 2026 cut-off?

715–213 marks for UR/EWS (50th percentile), 212–177 for OBC, SC and ST (40th percentile). The full category table, including PwBD, is below.

Why is the range so wide at some scores?

The width depends on the gap between the published bands. Between 500 and 600 marks, for example, NTA gives only the two totals, so any rank in between is possible for a score in that band.

How are ties broken in NEET?

The 2026 bulletin breaks ties by higher marks in Biology, then Chemistry, then Physics, then fewer wrong answers relative to right ones (overall, then Biology, Chemistry, Physics). If candidates are still tied, an independent expert committee resolves it by a random process.

Is qualifying NEET the same as getting a seat?

No. Qualifying only makes you eligible for counselling. Seats depend on your rank, category, state quota and the college cut-offs in counselling (MCC for all India quota, state authorities for state quota).
