Two things worth getting right
What your answer sheet is worth. Computer Based Examination has 100 questions for 100 marks, with 1/4 off for a wrong answer. The marks calculator works the score out section by section from the official answer key.
The penalty is 0.25, not 0.50. Paragraph 12.4 of the notice is explicit, yet a good deal of secondary material on this exam prints 0.50 and doubles the cost of a wrong answer. On a 100-mark paper that is the difference between losing five marks for twenty wrong answers and losing ten.
Your answer-key score is not your merit score. Because the paper is sat in shifts across several days, the Commission normalises marks before ranking, so two candidates with the same raw score can end up with different normalised ones. Work out the raw score here, then see how the adjustment works with the SSC normalization calculator.
