Using your score
- Count right and wrong answers from the official answer key for a reliable score.
- The whole paper is 100 questions for 100 marks in 90 minutes, so every question is worth one mark and a wrong answer costs a quarter of one.
- A question left blank carries no penalty, so an unattempted question is never worse than a wrong one.
Frequently asked questions
What is the negative marking in Delhi Police Constable?
Computer Based Examination: +1 for a right answer, −1/4 for a wrong one.
What are the total marks in Computer Based Examination?
100 marks: General Knowledge / Current Affairs (50 questions), Reasoning (25 questions), Numerical Ability (15 questions), Computer Fundamentals, MS Excel, MS Word, Internet (10 questions).
Is an unattempted question marked negatively?
No. Only wrong answers carry a penalty. A question left blank scores zero.
How do I count my right and wrong answers?
Compare your responses with the official answer key published by the exam body. Count only the questions you marked: those matching the key are right, the rest are wrong.
Is the negative marking 0.25 or 0.50?
It is 0.25. Paragraph 12.4 of the Commission’s notice says "there will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer". Several summaries of this exam state 0.50, which is wrong; the figure here comes from the notice itself, which is linked below.
Is this the score that decides the merit list?
No. The paper is sat in several shifts, so the Commission normalises marks across shifts before the merit list is drawn. This calculator gives your raw score from the answer key. Use the SSC normalization calculator to see how that adjustment works.
What is the Computer part about?
The notice describes Part-D as Computer Fundamentals, MS Excel, MS Word, Communication, Internet, WWW and Web Browsers. It carries 10 questions for 10 marks, the smallest part of the paper.
Does the PE&MT score count towards the total?
No. The Physical Endurance and Measurement Test is qualifying in nature, so it decides whether you continue, not where you stand. Only the Computer Based Examination carries marks.
