- 1st Stage CBT (screening): 100 questions × 1 mark in 90 minutes, −1/3 per wrong answer.
- 2nd Stage CBT: 120 questions × 1 mark in 90 minutes, −1/3 per wrong answer.
- Then document verification and a medical examination. Both notices dispense with the typing skill test, so typist posts have no typing stage; typing on a computer is assessed after joining.
- The 1st Stage CBT for CEN 06/2026 is tentatively planned to start in the fourth week of December 2026, according to an indicative notice of 12 October 2026. A separate notice will give the dates.
CEN 06/2026 has no Station Master or Traffic Assistant posts, which CEN 06/2025 had, so there is no aptitude test this time. Vacancies are the totals for all RRBs printed in each notice; the notices say they may change.
