Eligibility

Enter your date of birth.

Based on the date-of-birth limits printed in the official notification.

How it's calculated

The RRB NTPC 2026 notice prints the exact range of dates of birth allowed as on 1 January 2027. The calculator checks your date of birth against that range. A category relaxation moves only the earliest allowed date of birth; the lower age limit does not change.

Estimate only. Official results, marks and eligibility are decided by the Railway Recruitment Boards. Verify on the official website.

Worked example: born 2 January 1993

For 18–33 years, dates of birth from 2 January 1994 to 1 January 2009 are allowed. Born 2 January 1993, you are 33 years 11 months on 1 January 2027: over the limit without relaxation.

With OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) relaxation (3 years) the earliest allowed date becomes 2 January 1991, so the same candidate is eligible.

Not calculated here: staff of quasi-administrative offices (up to length of service or 5 years, whichever is less).

  • Staff of quasi-administrative offices of the railways (canteens, co-operative societies and institutes) get relaxation up to their length of service or 5 years, whichever is less. This calculator does not include it.

Frequently asked questions

What is the age limit for RRB NTPC 2026?

18–33 years, 18–30 years as on 1 January 2027. For 18–33 years, you must be born not earlier than 2 January 1994 and not later than 1 January 2009.

How much age relaxation is allowed?

OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years; SC / ST: 5 years; PwBD (UR / EWS): 10 years; PwBD (OBC-NCL): 13 years; PwBD (SC / ST): 15 years; Ex-servicemen, 6+ months after attestation (UR / EWS): 3 years after deducting military service. The notice lists 14 relaxation categories in all; the full table is on this page.

Which date of birth counts?

The date of birth in your application, which must match your Matriculation / Secondary certificate. Later requests to change it are not accepted.

Does relaxation change the minimum age?

No. Relaxation only raises the upper age limit. Everyone must meet the minimum age on the cut-off date.

Why is the age limit different for Graduate and Under Graduate posts?

They are two separate notices. CEN 06/2026 (Graduate posts such as Goods Train Manager and Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor) allows 18 to 33 years; CEN 07/2026 (Under Graduate posts such as Commercial cum Ticket Clerk) allows 18 to 30 years. Both count age on 1 January 2027.

Can I add two age relaxations together?

No. Both notices say that if you are eligible on more than one ground you get the highest single relaxation, not the total. SC, ST and OBC candidates applying against UR vacancies get no community relaxation, and PwBD candidates applying against UR vacancies get only the PwBD (UR) relaxation.
