Eligibility

Enter your date of birth.

Based on the date-of-birth limits printed in the official notification.

How it's calculated

Uttarakhand Police, often shortened to UK Police, recruits constables through the UKSSSC and sub-inspectors through the UKPSC. Neither advertisement prints a range of dates of birth: both print the age limit and the crucial date, and the ranges here are worked out from those. The calculator checks your date of birth against them. A relaxation only moves the earliest allowed date of birth back; the minimum age does not change.

Estimate only. Official results, marks and eligibility are decided by the recruiting commission. Verify on the official website.

Worked example: born 2 July 2001

For Constable: 18–22 years, dates of birth from 2 July 2002 to 1 July 2006 are allowed. Born 2 July 2001, a candidate is 22 years 11 months old on 1 July 2024, so without relaxation they are over the limit.

With the Uttarakhand SC / ST / OBC relaxation (5 years), the earliest allowed date of birth becomes 2 July 1997, so the same candidate is eligible.

Age relaxation by category

CategoryRelaxation
Uttarakhand SC / ST / OBC5 years
Dependant of an Uttarakhand freedom fighter5 years
Divyangjan of Uttarakhand (sub-inspector posts)10 years
Home guard with 3 years of regular service (constable posts)5 years
Ex-serviceman of UttarakhandMilitary service deducted; up to 3 years over the limit
  • The dates of birth shown are worked out here, not quoted. Both advertisements print the age limits and the crucial date of 1 July 2024, but neither prints a range of dates of birth.
  • The reckoning is the one government advertisements use when they do print the dates: you must not have attained the maximum age on the crucial date. For the 21 to 28 limit that makes 2 July 1996 the earliest date of birth, not 1 July 1996.

Frequently asked questions

What is the age limit for Uttarakhand Police?

Constable: 18–22 years; Sub-Inspector: 21–28 years, counted on 1 July 2024. For Constable: 18–22 years, you must be born not earlier than 2 July 2002 and not later than 1 July 2006.

How much age relaxation is allowed?

Uttarakhand SC / ST / OBC: 5 years; Dependant of an Uttarakhand freedom fighter: 5 years; Divyangjan of Uttarakhand (sub-inspector posts): 10 years; Home guard with 3 years of regular service (constable posts): 5 years; Ex-serviceman of Uttarakhand: Military service deducted; up to 3 years over the limit. The full table is on this page.

Do candidates from other states get age relaxation?

No. The notice gives reservation and the related relaxation only to Uttarakhand domiciles. Candidates from other states can apply only as unreserved (general).

Which date of birth counts?

The date of birth on your High School (Class 10) certificate. Enter the same date in your application.

Is "UK Police" the same as Uttarakhand Police?

Yes. "UK Police" is how candidates commonly shorten Uttarakhand Police, where UK stands for Uttarakhand and not the United Kingdom. The force's own name is Uttarakhand Police; constable recruitment is run by the UKSSSC and sub-inspector recruitment by the UKPSC, and the age limits on this page come from those two advertisements.

Do constable and sub-inspector get the same relaxations?

No, and this is easy to get wrong. Both give 5 years to Uttarakhand SC, ST and OBC candidates and to dependants of freedom fighters. But the constable advertisement records that disability was not identified for those posts, so it lists no PwD relaxation, while the sub-inspector advertisement allows 10 years for divyangjan of Uttarakhand. The constable advertisement adds 5 years for a home guard who had completed 3 years of regular service on 1 July 2024.

How does the ex-servicemen relaxation work?

An Uttarakhand ex-serviceman deducts the period served in the armed forces from his actual age. If what remains is not more than 3 years above the maximum age limit, he meets the age condition. Enter your service dates above and the calculator does that subtraction.

I applied under the older 2022 sub-inspector advertisement. Does my age limit differ?

Yes. The advertisement says candidates who had applied under the UKSSSC advertisement of 3 January 2022 are judged on their age as on 1 July 2021, with a minimum of 21 and a maximum of 29 years. That older window is not calculated here, so read clause 2 of the advertisement.
