Eligibility

Enter your date of birth.

Based on the date-of-birth limits printed in the official notification.

How it's calculated

The SSC MTS 2025 notice prints the exact range of dates of birth allowed as on 1 August 2025. The calculator checks your date of birth against that range. A category relaxation moves only the earliest allowed date of birth; the lower age limit does not change.

Estimate only. Official results, marks and eligibility are decided by the Staff Selection Commission. Verify on the official website.

Worked example: born 2 August 1999

For 18–25 years, dates of birth from 2 August 2000 to 1 August 2007 are allowed. Born 2 August 1999, you are 25 years 11 months on 1 August 2025: over the limit without relaxation.

With OBC relaxation (3 years) the earliest allowed date becomes 2 August 1997, so the same candidate is eligible.

Para 6.1: the crucial date for age is 01-08-2025. Para 6.1.1: 18-25 years for MTS (born not before 02.08.2000 and not later than 01.08.2007). Para 6.1.2: 18-27 years for Havaldar in CBIC and CBN and a few MTS posts in various departments (born not before 02.08.1998 and not later than 01.08.2007). The upper age limit applies to unreserved and EWS candidates. Ex-servicemen get 3 years after the military service rendered is deducted from the actual age. Central Government civilian employees with at least 3 years of regular and continuous service get relaxation up to 40 or 45 years depending on the category, which this calculator does not model.

Frequently asked questions

What is the age limit for SSC MTS 2025?

18–25 years, 18–27 years as on 1 August 2025. For 18–25 years, you must be born not earlier than 2 August 2000 and not later than 1 August 2007.

How much age relaxation is allowed?

OBC: 3 years; SC / ST: 5 years; PwBD (Unreserved / EWS): 10 years; PwBD (OBC): 13 years; PwBD (SC / ST): 15 years; Ex-servicemen: 3 years after deducting military service. The notice lists 8 relaxation categories in all; the full table is on this page.

Which date of birth counts?

The date of birth in your application, which must match your Matriculation / Secondary certificate. Later requests to change it are not accepted.

Does relaxation change the minimum age?

No. Relaxation only raises the upper age limit. Everyone must meet the minimum age on the cut-off date.

Why are there two age limits for the same exam?

Because the Recruitment Rules differ by post. MTS posts are 18 to 25 years, while Havaldar in CBIC and CBN, and a few MTS posts in other departments, are 18 to 27. Choose the age limit that matches the post you are applying for.

How is the ex-servicemen relaxation worked out?

The notice says 3 years after the military service rendered is deducted from your actual age. Enter your service dates above and the calculator does that subtraction before checking the limit.

Is there relaxation for central government employees?

Yes. Central Government civilian employees with at least 3 years of regular and continuous service can go up to 40 or 45 years depending on the category, under codes 10 and 11 of the notice. Those two are not modelled here, because they replace the limit rather than add years to it — read para 6.2 of the notice.
